Detailed-project (1): The Futuristic Dynamics of Urban MZ Generation

Research on African urban youth is crucial for understanding the political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics emerging amid rapid urbanization and youth population growth.
Urban youth challenge existing power structures through democratization movements and political participation, leading creative economies and cultures based on digital technology and global networks. Yet they face complex challenges including high unemployment, economic inequality, and environmental issues.
Within multicultural urban environments, they fuse tradition and modernity to form new identities, and these cultural practices connect to global discourses beyond their local.

First, the knowledge research explores how youth reconstruct their identities while generating and sharing knowledge within the urban space.
Second, the power research examines how youth drive political and social change by challenging existing power structures or forming new ones.
Third, the relations research addresses the formation and reconstitution of relationships and collaborations among youth within diverse social and cultural contexts in the urban.

Through this, the dynamics of knowledge, power, and relations exhibited by the MZ generation in Africa amid urbanization and globalization contribute to understanding changes in cities and global society.
